The Battle for Great People – With Richard Wood, MD at Grain

By January 26th, 2017 No Comments

This month at the Giant Academy we talk about how many owners, as they successfully grow their businesses, are  making a real priority of finding and retaining the right people. The lack of “good people” is often cited as the major barrier to growth by our clients. In both the technical and professional sectors, it seems a common challenge. This means you need to be better than your competitors at finding, recruiting and retaining the best people.

We believe the solution to this challenge draws from across our 3P model of Purpose, People & Process.

  • Purpose – increasingly people (particularly Millennials) are choosing who they work for because of why they do what they do, not just because of what they do
  • Process – having great resources available, along with a simple and effective business model makes it easy for people to do their best work
  • People – a simple structure, a transparent and fair approach to managing performance and engaging and respected leadership builds trust and commitment
