Why A Discovery Call?
We have been asked many questions about what a discovery call is so I thought I would summarise exactly what it is and how it works because here at My Accountancy Place we like to do things a bit differently. We are not one for following the traditional sales call process and so that’s why we created the discovery call.
Whenever a prospect gets in touch with us we like to put them through the discovery call process for a number of reasons. The first is to obviously find out as much information about that prospect company and most importantly to find out if they are a good fit. My Accountancy Place deal exclusively with Digital Creative Agencies. If someone within this area was to join us, we would be able to bring a wealth of skills and information to their business. In addition, we like to know what their future goals are and where the prospect thinks their business is heading. The main purpose of this is to be able to help them achieve these goals.
How Long Does It Take?
The process is really simple. It requires a simple phone call with a Client Coordinator and takes around 15 minutes. Prior to this phone call, an email is sent to the prospect asking them a few questions about their business and their current accounting set up. This “homework” is then revisited during the phone call along with a few more questions regarding your goals: what’s working for you at the moment and what’s not working well for you. This could be in the business and outside of work too.
Next Steps
Having discussed all of the above with a prospect, it’s then a case of referring onto a partner firm if we are not a good fit, it does happen from time to time but we still want to ensure the prospect is well looked after. However, if we do think this is the start of a beautiful relationship, we like to invite the prospect in for a face to face meeting with one of our experienced FDs to focus on the strategic side of things and if we feel it’s the right time, we will create a proposal with you suitable for your Agency’s needs.
